My first love affair was with books.
I grew up in a small town in the Midwest, reading books while sitting between the cool limestone pillars guarding the front door of the local Carnegie library. The library was just six blocks away, but it could take me thousands of places.
I knew I wanted to be a writer. Instead, I grew up and did many other things.
I never stopped loving books. I never stopped wanting to be a writer. A book was in me, and finally, after my children became adults, I began to write.
My current book takes place in the Midwest and follows the plight of a young girl in the mid-1970s. Taken from my own experiences as well as those adventures tucked away in my dreams, she is on a slippery journey to find herself.
I am currently hard a work on my debut novel with the working title of Follow Fifty Home.
